Hello All,
This week has been a good week. Not a lot has happened anymore than my
first 3 weeks in the field but my perspective on my purpose for being
out here and my purpose with others has changed in a very good way. I
have always known that numbers don’t determine my success or worth as a
missionary but it has been hard not having anyone that wants to talk to
us and hardly anyone we are teaching. As this week has progressed, I
have changed my perspective on the work. My purpose is to brighten
someone’s day and share God’s love with them. Be their friend not mainly
teach them.
We do have an interested lady named Sylvia. She is really nice and the first
lesson we had with her we gave her a book of Mormon! She was really
excited about it too! So this has been a good week. I have learned to be
patient and have faith in God’s timing and that my main purpose is to
share the life of Christ not just teach lessons.
I know God loves me and all of us; I know that he has a plan for me and
everyone; and I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
I love you all!
You are all doing great work!

We visited with Sister Disanza. She is very old and has to move around in a wheel chair and I love her so much! She told us about her early life and her family; her conversion story and her service in the church as a seminary teacher and hosted at her house. She also talked about a family that owned a farm and families would come to pick food and and there was a play set for the kids and and there was a baby sitter to watch babies so the mothers could pick on the farm. Essentially a community farm. The family that owned the farm also gave out recipes to those who came to pick food.
